If you are considering working with financial planner you want to make sure you are dealing with a reputable one. There are numerous stories of people who have lost their entire life savings because they worked with a financial planner that turned out to be less than honest. Whether they are advising on life insurance settlements or stock picks, dealing with a reputable advisor is key. Here are a few ways to choose a financial planner.
Ask Around Check around with your friends, family and work colleagues to see if they can recommend an advisor that they trust. Ask them about their advice performance and if they are available to them on a regular basis. You do not want to deal with a financial advisor that you can never get a hold of on the phone or in person. Get a short list together and start making some calls.
Advice Performance When you have a short list together make some phone calls to the advisors and ask to see some examples of their portfolio performance. You want to find an advisor that has a good track record of gains. Of course past performance is no indication of what will happen in the future so dont count on returns.
Whether you are discussing senior settlements or the latest stock picks you want to deal with a reputable financial advisor.
