Price Cutting of Nintendo DSi

TOKYO – Starting on 12 September 2010, Nintendo’s portable game consoles, such as the DSi and DSi XL will drop the price of $ 20.
By this cutting, this means Nintendo will sell DSi for USD150 and their latest console, DSiXL will be sold for USD170.
The price cutting of this console has received a positive response from Nintendo games lover. The reason is that they had been hit by turmoil because of the waiting of 3DS for technology that uses three dimensional (3D) without any special glasses.
But according to the game observers, this price cutting strategy will give a bad impact for other Nintendo products. “Do the consumers want to buy the DSi XL for USD 190, while they know that Nintendo promised to launch the 3D gaming device next year?” Winda Benedetti said.
This gaming console was introduced to the public at the time of the world’s largest gaming exhibition in Las Vegas E3, some time ago. After the exhibition, of course, many consumers are hoping that Nintendo 3DS will be immediately launched to the market in the future. (more…)
